[Now that the weather has cleared up, Shirou is outside and laying down on the grass, near the pond on the northern edge of town. After thinking for a while, he decides to muse a bit.]

You know...I've never had a mother figure before. I don't remember my birth mother. I had a father figure and a big sister figure, but that was all I had growing up. I used to try to ignore this day when it came, because there was no point in observing it and there was no point in dwelling on it.

So to finally get one now...it's strange. It just feels different. I'm eighteen years old -- though I guess I'm still seventeen back home -- and now I have someone who I should have had all my life.

You asked me if I knew anything special about today. You didn't know about Mother's Day...and specifically asked about the date. There's something about the date that you're hiding from me because I didn't answer the way you wanted me to answer.

It was a simple misunderstanding in relation to dates. You have a reason to celebrate this day and I have my own reason to celebrate this day. Although I cannot find joy in my heart for something I wish never happened in the first place.

In the end, I suffered the consequences for doing so, but I would have done it all gladly for the sake of my beloved Britain.

At the end there was only unrest among my subjects and deplorable rage towards a king who could never show emotion, for if I did, then I would have been discovered.

Merlin told me often that I was a beautiful person with a good heart, so even if I failed... then I know I did my best. I will return to Avalon and rest until I am called upon again.
